There Is a Bright Future of Education after Covid-19 Pandemic

Education after Covid-19 Pandemic
History shows that natural disasters like floods and earthquakes, wars, pandemics and crises have always affected education. But the impact of COVID-19 is harder than any other factor. Roughly calculated almost 1.53 billion learners are affected. With schools, colleges, academies and universities close and strict lockdown, government and management are looking for alternatives to continue learning. These initiatives and alternatives are not just to provide education during lockdown or till the pandemic prevails. But are also responsible to bring reforms and shape the future of the Education system. The complete effect of COVID-19 on the future of education can’t be predicted until the generation of a practical method or technique to overcome this epidemic. The world is in the middle of digitizing every industry which will have a large impact on every aspect of our lives. And its greatest impact will be on education

Previously, online learning was restricted for distant education and virtual universities only. But during COVID-19 pandemic, online education emerged as the only best possible solution in the form of coursework writing services for continuous learning. In the early stages of this pandemic, online education was started to save the academic year and time of students until the formulation of any proper strategy. But online education itself becomes a strategy. Now educational institutions, parents, teachers and students have accepted this mode of learning and planning on a long-term basis for making it more credible. This results in the emergence of new platforms and apps for facilitating online learning. Another big change is the involvement of parents in the class. Now parents can continuously monitor what teachers are teaching during classes.

Educational sector is the most important sector of the economy which needs reforms and modifications on a periodic basis. But unfortunately, it remains old-fashioned and resilient to change. We are following the same strategies of learning and examining. But crises come, some prevail for longer periods, but educational practices remain unchanged. But there are just 100 days of COVID-19 and we have noticed major changes in the learning process and techniques. Now schools’ whiteboards and chalks are replaced by Zoom and Google Classrooms. We have witnessed collaborative online learning and mostly learning without curriculum textbooks in students’ hands. Although no one knows for how long this strategy will last we can expect the following changes in the education system in future.

In classroom learning, only bookish knowledge was transferred and there was very little activity that involved practical approach. But online learning is much different from classroom learning. Now teachers are trying to explore more ways to make online classes more effective. Most students don’t have access to hard copies of books so using the old methodology of teaching from reading and explaining the text from books in their hands is no longer possible. Teachers are searching and using videos for explaining, assigning the students activities to clarify their concepts and web based tests and papers. So in future, we can expect that students will take responsibility for their learning, and will make their learning more personalized.

This will also remove old fashioned education models. Many private and small schools, colleges and universities will either close or merge with other schools, colleges and universities. We will clearly see a big improvement in vision statements of educational institutions with more focus on e-learning and open-source digital learning. Formerly, the main focus of schools was on old-style educational skills and rote learning. But now with the amalgamation of IT in education will be more speeded up. Online education will turn into an essential module of school learning.

Teachers are searching for reliable sources to help curate high-quality online learning tools. This will also improve the teacher's creativity. Due to COVID crises exams in almost all the schools all around the world have been cancelled or postponed. Some institutes have promoted their students without exams and others are striving for online assessment and quizzes for replacing exams during COVID pandemic. If this gets successful, we can expect a significant change in the examination system as well where students have to sit in big halls for 3 hours to attempt the paper. And mostly they are judged on the basis of more bookish knowledge and few conceptual questions.

Challenges:
Besides the large benefits of eLearning, the world has to face many challenges arising from online education. Not all students have access to the internet and electronic devices. This will increase the gap between income classes and cause educational inequity. Bandwidth is also a big problem. Online learning is only effective when complete access to the right technology is available.
